Moroccan Actress Apologizes for Controversial Red Carpet Kiss During Ramadan

While many were starting to congratulate her for daring to kiss another woman on the mouth, in the middle of Ramadan, twice, in front of cameras, photographers, and the public present (seeing or trying to see any symbolic and militant significance in it), Loubna Azabal has just apologized.
For many, she did well to apologize after her kisses. For others, she backed down. Just as her two kisses were seen in different and opposing ways, her apologies were seen the same way. And it’s understandable.
In any case, the Moroccan actress felt the need to apologize, among others, to the "Moroccan people", in a video published yesterday. She claims that these kisses were her own initiative and that Nisrin Erradi "was not aware of it".
In the video, after a salamo âlaikoum, Azabal says: "I’m sending you this video to apologize for the kiss I gave to Nisrin during the Photocall in Cannes." We can then hear Azabal say: "It’s my fault. I gave Nisrin a kiss of love because I consider her my sister."
For her, this kiss had no sexual connotation nor was it premeditated or intended to serve any kind of militant struggle: "It was a naive kiss. And it’s my fault. I didn’t think about it. I absolutely didn’t want to hurt or shock anyone during this Ramadan period. So I apologize to Nisrin’s fans, to the Moroccan people, to everyone."
