Moroccan Activists Condemn Tel Aviv Knife Attack by US Resident

Pro-Israeli Moroccan activists have condemned the knife attack that occurred last Tuesday in Tel Aviv, which left four injured, and whose perpetrator is a young Moroccan residing in the United States.
All Moroccans "oppose terrorist acts," said Faiçal Merjani, president of the Maroc Coexistence association, in an interview with the Israeli channel Kan. For him, the knife attack that occurred last Tuesday in Tel Aviv, whose perpetrator is Abdelaziz Kaddi, a young Moroccan born on June 3, 1995 and a US resident since 2022, is a "cowardly criminal act. Its author does not represent the values of Morocco, which are based on tolerance and coexistence."
The kingdom firmly rejects all forms of extremism and violence, added Merjani, explaining that the extremist discourse prevalent in Europe and the United States has negative repercussions, including on some Moroccan migrants. He also stated that the relations between Morocco and Israel are "strong and solid, and will not be affected by such terrorist acts." Moroccan human rights activist Aziz Rekrak, for his part, apologized to the Israeli people: "I apologize to the Israeli people for the incident of the knife attack perpetrated by a Moroccan migrant in the United States. It is a despicable, condemnable act, and outside our values. We hope that this incident will not have a negative impact on the close relations between our two countries."
A member of the Moroccan Front for Support of Palestine and Opposition to Normalization, however, believes that this attack could be a reaction to "Israel’s crimes in Gaza."
