Moroccan Activists Call for Spanish Product Boycott Amid Diplomatic Tensions

In Morocco, thousands of people, including journalists and activists, are reacting to the new tension between the kingdom and Spain caused by the emergency admission of Brahim Ghali, the Polisario leader, to a hospital in Logroño, under the assumed name of Mohamed Ben Battouche, of Algerian nationality. They have called for a boycott of Spanish products.
Since Saturday, calls to boycott Spanish products have multiplied across Arabic, French and Spanish language accounts. Behind this, thousands of Moroccans, including journalists and activists. In total, more than 800 Spanish companies are present in Morocco. Since 2012, the Iberian peninsula has been considered a trade partner.
The emergency admission of the Polisario chief Brahim Ghali to a hospital in Logroño, under the assumed name of Mohamed Ben Battouche, of Algerian nationality, for "humanitarian reasons" has caused new tensions between Morocco and Spain. A diplomatic crisis that has given rise to a migration crisis this week. Despite the lull in Sebta, tensions between the two countries remain high.
