Moroccan Activist Jailed for 3 Years Over Facebook Post on Rif Protests

A Rif activist has just been sentenced to three years in prison and a fine of a few hundred dirhams (500dh). The cause, a Facebook post where he talks about civil rebellion (for the release of Hirak detainees).
According to EFE, Rachid Chabani would have asked, on Facebook, a question: "if this act of protest could become a civil rebellion until the release of the detainees". A simple question, a threat to advance the case or an invitation? The answer is not so obvious.
Chabani asked for this the day before the national march in support of the Hirak detainees in which he participated, in Rabat, on April 21, 2019. And he was arrested after his return from the march, near Al Hoceïma. He is thirty years old.
EFE writes: "The arrest of Chabani, a 30-year-old student, took place a few hours after his return from the capital Rabat, where he had gone alongside thousands of people to demand the release of detainees following the recent social uprising in the city of Al Hoceïma, in the north of the Rif".
This conviction comes as the Hirak detainees have, in a statement, specified that they are ready to turn the page and find a solution going in the direction of their release as well as the imminent development of Morocco. This makes things even more complex...
