Mohamed Ouahbi Salary Revealed: Morocco Coach Earnings 2026
Engaged in the 2026 World Cup since July 11, the Moroccan national team is led by Mohamed Ouahbi. An opportunity to examine the paycheck of this technician, whose remuneration places him in the upper-middle range of the African continent.
Appointed to head the national team a few weeks after the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Mohamed Ouahbi took over from Walid Regragui. For this mission, the technician receives a monthly salary of approximately 55,000 euros. While this amount is lower than the 70,000 euros earned by his predecessor, it represents solid financial progress. This sum corresponds to more than double what he earned when he led Morocco’s under-20s to their world championship triumph in Chile in 2025, according to Jeune Afrique.

Among the ten African teams competing in this World Cup, the tactician ranks just outside the podium of the highest-paid national team coaches. He remains significantly behind Swiss Vladimir Petkovic, who earns 150,000 euros per month with Algeria following his recent raise. Behind this undisputed leader, Portuguese Carlos Queiroz negotiates 87,000 euros with Ghana, while Belgian Hugo Broos in South Africa and Ivorian Emerse Faé share third place with 75,000 euros.

Despite this privileged status on the continent, Mohamed Ouahbi’s income does not compare with global benchmarks on the sidelines. For example, Italian Carlo Ancelotti dominates the global ranking with Brazil at 9.6 million euros gross annually, far ahead of Frenchman Didier Deschamps and his 3.9 million. The Moroccan coach nonetheless maintains a very comfortable advantage over other African counterparts, such as Cape Verdean Pedro Leitao Brito, whose earnings approach 10,000 euros monthly.
