Missing Spanish Girl Found Safe in Morocco After Mother’s Cross-Border Trip

A father residing in Roquetas de Mar (Almeria) reported the disappearance of his four-year-old daughter on Wednesday. After 24 hours of investigation, the Guardia Civil discovered that the minor had been taken to Morocco by her mother.
Following the announcement of Arwa’s disappearance, the SOS Desaparecidos association and the National Center for Missing Persons (Cndes) published a search notice on social media to help find the child.
The Civil Guard opened an investigation for alleged kidnapping. In 24 hours, the investigators discovered that the minor had been taken by her mother to Morocco. Arwa was located at the home of her maternal grandparents in Morocco, ABC reports.
The investigation is ongoing to shed full light on this case, said the sub-delegate of the government in Almeria, José María Martín, on Thursday, assuring that the minor is in good health and out of danger.
The mother could be prosecuted if it is established that she is not the legal guardian of the child and did not obtain the necessary authorizations to take her to Morocco.
