Ministry of Justice Refutes Rumors of New Judicial Police Powers for Authority Agents

For a few days, rumors have been circulating about the development of a law aimed at allowing certain authority agents to have the status of judicial police. The information is unfounded, according to the Ministry of Justice, which states that such a project has never existed.
Contacted by Médias24, the Ministry of Justice denies the preparation of such a draft law. According to it, "the code of criminal procedure already gives certain authority agents, such as caids and pashas, the status of judicial police officers".
It is therefore unnecessary and inopportune for the Ministry of Justice to prepare another text to "grant this status to other authority agents," explains a source at the Ministry of Justice.
