Morocco Denies Reports of Seeking Donations for Mosque Reopening Supplies

The information circulated by certain media about the government’s intention to supply mosques with thermometers and disinfectants would be false. The Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs has come forward to provide a formal denial.
Since Tuesday, July 7, it has been decided that mosques will open their doors progressively from July 15 and according to a strict health protocol. It is in this perspective that the media announced that the State has "resorted to benefactors to provide temperature measurement equipment and disinfectants".
The ministry says it has never carried out such an action, and "warns citizens against these lies and erroneous information, the authors of which intentionally or unintentionally aim to sow confusion about the measures taken in this regard," reports the MAP.
