Milwaukee Bucks Executive Alex Lasry Enters Wisconsin Senate Race

Alex Lasry, son of Marc Lasry, an American billionaire born into a Jewish-Moroccan family from Marrakech, is a candidate in the 2022 Senate elections. He aims to win the position of Senator for Wisconsin.
Alex Lasry, 33, dreams of becoming the Senator for Wisconsin. Vice-president of the Milwaukee Bucks, of which his father is a co-owner, he wants to try his hand at politics. On Thursday, he announced his candidacy for the US Senate. "It’s time to throw out the old ways of Washington and start thinking about the American economy in a new way," Lasry said, adding that he has shown that progressive values are good for business.
He will run under the Democratic banner. Republican Ron Johnson, in office since 2010, is his challenger. But Alex will first have to win the Democratic nomination against Thomas Nelson. Although he has little political experience, he is considered a lucky candidate. The advantage he has is that he can use part of his father’s (1.8 billion dollars) fortune in the campaign.
This advantage seems to be causing irritation for Thomas Nelson, who has asked him not to use his family’s wealth in the campaign. "No one should be able to buy a Senate seat," he told him on Twitter.
