New Moroccan-Israeli Friendship Group Launches in US to Strengthen Ties

The Moroccan-Israeli Friendship Association (MIFA) has just been created in the United States to strengthen relations between the two countries. Rabbi Gad Bouskila, a member of the Moroccan Jewish Center Netivot Israel Congregation in Brooklyn (New York), is the honorary president.
MIFA is based in Athens, Georgia (southeast). Its mission is to promote "mutual understanding of the history, culture and contemporary society of Morocco and Israel", according to a statement from its founding members. The association intends to "recall the historical facts that have distinguished Morocco as a pioneer in consolidating the values of peace and tolerance and in the fight against anti-Semitism", they emphasize.
Also, the association adheres to the spirit of the 2011 Moroccan Constitution, which enshrines the essential place of Judaism in the cultural plurality of the kingdom. MIFA intends in particular to highlight Judeo-Moroccan history and culture and facilitate exchanges between Morocco and Israel to promote scientific research in the fields of medicine, renewable energy, environmental protection, history and culture, etc.
Among other members of the association’s board, we can mention: Mustapha Ezzrghani, president; the founder of the Sephardic Legacy Series institute, Allen Azoulay (vice-president), and the president of the Jewish community in Marrakech and Essaouira, Jacky Kadock (secretary).
