$105.6 Million for AMRAAMs: Morocco’s Share Remains Secret
Morocco is among the 29 countries covered by a new $105.6 million U.S. contract for AMRAAM missile components. The Pentagon details the U.S. and foreign funding, but does not disclose either the amount or the equipment reserved for Rabat.
Raytheon has secured a contract modification worth exactly $105,646,856 for the purchase of parts intended for AMRAAM air-to-air missiles. Awarded on September 22, the contract extends contract FA8556-25-C-B001 and will be carried out in Tucson, Arizona, through August 31, 2027, according to the U.S. Department of Defense notice.
Most of the allocation finances U.S. military needs. The U.S. Air Force is committing $61.59 million and the U.S. Navy $8.39 million. Foreign military sales account for $35.65 million.

Morocco shares this latter allocation with 28 other countries, including Argentina, Australia, Germany, Israel, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom. The U.S. document does not break down the $35.65 million among the various customers.
A Global Allocation, Not a Moroccan Invoice
The $105.6 million therefore does not correspond to a new order placed solely by Morocco. The contract covers a joint purchase of components for U.S. forces and several foreign customers. The notice does not mention any number of missiles or parts allocated to the Royal Air Force.
Morocco already has U.S. authorization to acquire up to 30 AIM-120C-8 AMRAAM missiles. This sale, estimated at $88.37 million, had been approved by the Department of State and notified to the U.S. Congress in December 2024.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency had then detailed an order also comprising a guidance section, telemetry kits, parts for the control sections, containers, testing equipment, software and technical support. RTX Corporation, Raytheon’s parent company, had been designated as the prime contractor.
