AC Milan Seeks to Extend Brahim Diaz Loan Despite Real Madrid’s Plans

On loan to AC Milan, Brahim Diaz should return to Real Madrid in June. But the Italian club does not plan to let the player of Moroccan origin, whom Madrid seems to have already integrated into its plans for the 2023/2024 season, leave.
Brahim Díaz is finishing his two-year loan at Milan in June and will return to Real Madrid, who are studying the possibility of having him play in the first team. But Milan wants to keep the Spanish player of Moroccan origin for next season. "Brahim Diaz has performed well in recent years. We will sit down with Real Madrid to study the conditions for renewing his loan," said Frédéric Massara, Milan’s sporting director, to Sky Sports Italia on Friday.
The player has gained the trust of coach Stefano Pioli, who has started him as a midfielder and forward for the most important matches of the season. Diaz has become a key piece of the Milanese system and the Italian club does not want to let him go. But the final word goes to Real Madrid, who are considering bringing the Moroccan prodigy back to the first team. The young striker had already played in this team for a season and a half after his transfer from Manchester City for 17 million euros.
For his part, Brahim Diaz is focused on the end of the season. The player will play the Champions League quarter-finals with Milan. Loaned to Milan in the summer of 2020, his contract with Real Madrid runs until 2025 and the Madrid club would also like to extend it, given the good development of his level during his loan in Italy. Diaz has a chance to play for the Real Madrid first team if the departure of Marco Asensio, one of the seven players who will be out of contract from July, is confirmed.
