AC Milan Eyes Ziyech and Pulisic as Potential Leao Replacements
AC Milan is still showing interest in Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech. However, a condition must be met.
AC Milan is "ready to move" for American international Christian Pulisic or Hakim Ziyech if its striker Rafael Leao, whose contract expires in the summer of 2024, leaves the club, reports Daily Mail. The Portuguese international is on the radar of Chelsea and Manchester, but they have not yet paid the 120 million euro release clause of the Portuguese international. Meanwhile, the Rossoneri are desperately trying to conclude a new agreement with their striker, reports Gazzetta Dello Sport. So far, the two parties have not been able to agree on new terms.
If AC Milan fails to extend Rafael Leao’s contract, it would be forced to "sell" him to replace him with Christian Pulisic or Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech. Arrived from Ajax in the summer of 2020 as part of a 35 million euro contract, the latter has failed to establish himself at Stamford Bridge. The Moroccan winger played only 14 matches out of 38 in the Premier League last season. He has scored 14 goals in 83 matches and won the Champions League, the Club World Cup and the Super Cup.
