Messi’s Absence from Morocco Match Sparks Injury Speculation and Controversy

The reason given for Messi’s absence from the friendly match between the Argentine team (we would be tempted to add "bis") and the Atlas Lions, namely an injury (or pain) in the pubis, is not convincing. Some talk of a secret agreement between the Moroccan and Argentine federations, others of a desire to spare themselves for future important matches.
The sports.fr website gives an analysis that slightly casts doubt on the very existence of a pubic pain. Thus, in an article titled "Messi, an absence that does not pass", we can read that this absence is "a forfeit that would essentially be a matter of precaution fifteen days before the clash of the Champions League quarter-finals against Manchester United. Lionel Messi was able to attend the baptism of Cesc Fabregas’ children organized this Sunday at the Hotel Palace in Barcelona..."
The newspaper Al Akhbar, on the other hand, talks about something else, nevertheless going in the same direction. Thus, Messi’s absence from the match would be... the result of an agreement between the Moroccan and Argentine federations. Even though the FRMF stood up to ask for explanations in order to justify Lionel Messi’s absence. Theater?
Al Akhbar specifies that this version of the facts is that of an Argentine journalist and that one of his sources at the Moroccan Federation denied the existence of such an agreement.
On the other hand, the same sound is heard from the newspaper Assabah, which supports the thesis of the existence of a secret agreement between the two federations. Assabah also adds that Messi’s injury is minor.
