Mercato: OM accelerates to attract Moroccan international Ismael Saibari from PSV

A few weeks before the winter transfer window, Olympique de Marseille (OM) would have accelerated negotiations to secure the services of Ismael Saibari, the Moroccan attacking midfielder from PSV Eindhoven.

According to Foot01, Ismael Saibari is on OM’s radar. The 24-year-old Moroccan striker, playing for PSV Eindhoven, seduces with his power, technique and consistency. With a market value estimated at 24 million euros by Transfermarkt, the young player is attracting the interest of several European clubs such as West Ham, Milan, Benfica, Aston Villa, Fulham, Brighton and Leeds. But OM seems to be ahead of its competitors.

Transfer specialist journalist Ekrem Konur confirms that OM is interested in the Atlas Lion, trained in Belgium and with 17 caps for the Moroccan national team. The Marseille club would be working to complete the negotiations with Eindhoven before the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) in Morocco, which Saibari will participate in with Morocco. If the talks are successful, the young striker could join Marseille in January 2026, at the end of the continental tournament.

For its part, PSV Eindhoven does not seem ready to let its Moroccan prodigy go, whose contract runs until 2029. The Dutch club sees no urgency in letting Saibari go this winter, according to Ekrem Konur. As for the Moroccan international, he prefers for the moment to focus on his performances and the upcoming matches with Morocco in the context of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

With 25 points in 12 games, Olympique de Marseille under Roberto De Zerbi is showing encouraging but improvable results. The arrival of a player like Saibari would allow the Marseille club to strengthen its attack and achieve better performances in the league and the Champions League.
