Medical Emergency Forces London-Bound Flight from Morocco to Land in Spain

A Tui Fly plane from Agadir to London had to make an emergency landing on Monday at the Santiago-Rosalia de Castro airport due to a medical emergency.
The crew of the flight informed air traffic controllers that they had a passenger on board who was suffering a heart attack and that they needed to make an emergency landing, reports El Correo Gallego. The controllers coordinated the landing of the aircraft at the capital’s airport and called for medical assistance to take care of the passenger on the ground.
The National Aviation Safety Agency (ESA) distinguishes emergency landings for health reasons from those due to aeronautical problems. A protocol is activated for each type of emergency.
