Match-Fixing Allegations Rock Moroccan Basketball, International Federation Alerted

After the scandal of match-fixing in women’s football, it is the turn of Moroccan basketball to be tainted by suspicions of match-fixing. The matter is so serious that the international federation has been informed of this latest scandal that is tarnishing the reputation of basketball in Morocco.
No respite for scandals in the Moroccan basketball milieu, while the championship is barely making a comeback after years of interruption. Facts are once again tarnishing the reputation of this discipline and the image of the Royal Moroccan Basketball Federation (FRMBB).
This new scandal with the appearance of match-fixing would be orchestrated by Raja Casablanca and the club of Al Hoceima, whose president runs the Royal Moroccan Basketball Federation (FRMBB), reports the daily Assabah. Sequences viewed of the match between Al Hoceima and the club of Amal Essaouira during the qualifying playoffs for the first division, made it possible to note that players from Chabab Rif Al Hoceima were behaving in a way to deliberately lose the match.
The objective of the club, according to Assabah, would be to avoid playing against Raja Casablanca led by the treasurer of the FRMBB, in the last playoff match. The Al Hoceima players were even seen passing the ball to the Essaouira players to score points.
The same scenario was noted in another match, this time opposing Raja Casablanca to Difaâ hassani d’El Jadida. The players behave as if they have been instructed to do everything to let the club of the president of the federation be the master of the championship and move up to the first division.
