Massive New Seaside Resort Planned Near Agadir to Boost Morocco’s Tourism

A new tourism project, namely a seaside resort, will soon strengthen the accommodation capacity and offerings of the Souss-Massa region in terms of tourism. Around 600 hectares of land are planned for this resort, which will be located about thirty kilometers from Agadir.
While Agadir is already the second tourist destination in Morocco, after Marrakech, accounting for 25% of tourist nights on its own, new projects are being studied to make it even more attractive and to expand its offerings and services. This is the case with this planned seaside resort.
30 kilometers from the capital of Souss, and 50 kilometers from the international airport Al Massira, "the site is located in the rural commune of Tamri under the prefecture of Agadir Ida Outanane. This future resort is bounded to the north by the reliefs of the High Atlas and to the west by the Atlantic Ocean," as written by Aujourd’hui le Maroc.
This project is, according to the same source, "launched by the Moroccan Tourist Engineering Company with the aim of developing a Master Plan for a tourist resort in the region."
No less than 594 hectares should be devoted to this project, promising a hotel accommodation of 12,000 beds, in addition to entertainment and leisure products. The newspaper specifies that the target clientele is "oriented towards adventure, sports, discovery and immersion, recreational activities, water sports and theme parks."
