Marvel’s ’Ms. Marvel’ Series Taps Diverse Directors for Muslim Superhero Story

Things are taking shape for the realization of the film on the very first Muslim superheroine, Kamala Khan, alias Miss Marvel.
Marvel and the streaming platform have entrusted the direction of the Ms. Marvel series to the directors of the film Bad Boys for Life, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, to the Pakistani director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (holder of two Oscars for short documentaries) and to the filmmaker Meera Menon (from episodes of You, The Walking Dead or The Punisher), reports La Dernière Heure.
The film traces the story of Kamala Khan, 16, a young American teenager of Pakistani origin living in New Jersey. Her desire to resemble Carol Danvers, namely Miss Marvel, clashes with the traditions of her family. She runs away and then takes refuge in a thick fog alongside Miss Marvel, Captain America and Iron Man. She wakes up at home. She realizes that she is developing the power to transform into whoever she wants. Finally, she achieves her dream of embodying Miss Marvel and saving her friends from imminent danger.
The selection of the main actress has not yet been effective.
