Marseille’s Tactical Ace: Ounahi Brings Versatility to OM’s Midfield

Azzedine Ounahi is the perfect recruit for the future of Olympique de Marseille (OM), according to Jean-Charles de Bono, a former member of the French club.
"When we changed two or three players, we no longer had the level. When you take Ounahi, you know that when there is a change or when he will be a starter, you will not have a loss of efficiency. Ounahi allows you to change your game plan. If you want to confuse the opponent on the tactical aspect, you can play Ounahi in a completely different role. Today, all the coaches are wondering how OM is going to play. A player like that is an additional weapon given to Tudor," explains De Bono on the set of ’Football club de Marseille’.
And he adds: "He is a player who had a remarkable World Cup. Today, he is joining a club where a lot of performance is required. Joining a team that is performing is a good thing. But you can’t also take out the good players who are performing to directly bring in a winter recruit. So, he will have to be patient because his turn will come. I think it is in perspective of Guendouzi’s departure. If OM qualifies directly for the Champions League, they will need a fairly large squad with an important bench. This is what has been lacking in recent seasons in the Champions League."
