Marseille Drug Crisis: Police Urge Crackdown on Moroccan Cannabis Supply

An investigator from the narcotics brigade claims that the cannabis sold in Marseille comes from Morocco. He recommends that the war against drug trafficking be waged "at the source".
"Everyone knows it comes from there (Morocco, ed.), so what are we waiting for? It’s good to wage a war against drugs, but if we don’t go to the source, it’s useless... it’s just PR. If we really want to tackle the root of the problem, we need to lock down the borders, it’s diplomatic," says an anonymous narcotics brigade investigator to France info.
To put an end to this trafficking, he also proposes a permanent police presence at the foot of the buildings. "If we want to wage war, we have to give ourselves the means, put a CRS company, all year round, night and day, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, in every housing project, and there are no more networks, no more deals. Today, we put CRS but from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and at 4 p.m. when they leave, the point of sale reopens..." suggests this police officer who has been working for seven years in the housing projects of the northern districts.
