Marrakech, the true capital of tourism in Morocco (the figures prove it)

The ochre city remains unbeatable. The figures as of the end of October 2025 confirm the supremacy of Marrakech which captures, on its own, a third of the tourist activity of the Kingdom. With hotels filled to more than 80% in the fall, the destination is running at full speed.

It is the locomotive that pulls the entire train. According to the latest data from the Tourism Observatory, Marrakech recorded 11.2 million overnight stays during the first ten months of 2025. A performance up 3% compared to the previous year, which consolidates its status as the undisputed tourist capital: one third (33%) of the overnight stays recorded throughout Morocco were at the foot of the Atlas.

The hoteliers are smiling. The average occupancy rate climbed to 73% between January and October (+2 points). But it was the month of October that was particularly dazzling: the classified establishments displayed an impressive occupancy rate of 82%, with more than 1.3 million overnight stays in that single month (+4%).

This Marrakech vitality is part of a robust national dynamic. At the country level, the sector is showing 9% growth with 36.2 million overnight stays as of the end of October 2025. Growth driven mainly by the strong return of international tourists (+11%), while domestic tourism continues its steady progress (+3%).
