Marrakech Real Estate Market Shows Signs of Recovery After Pandemic Slump

Hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic, the real estate sector in Marrakech is slowly recovering with the economic recovery and the reopening of Moroccan borders.
The Badr Lil Iskane group is hopeful that the real estate sector will rebound strongly. It has launched its new program in M’Hamid 9, (Marrakech), reports L’Économiste. This involves the construction of a city that covers 15 hectares. Social housing, duplexes, green spaces, clinics, shopping centers, mosques, bicycle racing circuits, swimming pools and markets will be built there. According to Abdellatif Badr, CEO of the real estate group, the idea is to offer all the nearby amenities to the residents of this program.
Specialized companies will be involved. The project is divided into four phases. In total, nearly 2,500 social housing units will be built. "The demand and need for affordable housing are still present, especially since the project offers accessories such as the swimming pool, a shopping center and very attractive financing conditions," notes Sara Serghini, commercial director of the project.
According to the explanations of Abdellatif Badr, cited by the newspaper, the technical studies and site development, the installation of the construction sites and the choice of the companies that will carry out the construction took a year. The program, which will require an envelope of 500 million DH (excluding land), has benefited from state support through an agreement concluded at the end of December 2020, he said.
