Marrakech Named Top 10 Romantic Winter Destination by Travel Experts

A Moroccan city is in the top 10 of the best romantic winter getaways. This is the result of the ranking of a specialized website.
Marrakech ranks 10th in the ranking of the 20 best romantic winter getaways, compiled by the Travel+ Leisure website. "A seductive feast for the senses, Marrakech dazzles with its colorful souks, Jemaa el-Fnaa square, the Majorelle Garden, a true oasis, and the romantic riads whose rooftops offer breathtaking sunsets. What makes the red city particularly appealing during the winter months is the mild climate and the clarity of the sky," describe the experts on the site, who recommend a dinner in a private tent in the Sahara Desert to savor delicious Moroccan cuisine under a blanket of stars.
Paris tops the ranking. The French city outperforms the Maldives, a small island country in southern Asia, located southwest of the southern tip of India. Charleston (South Carolina) ranks third. Then come Anguilla, a British Overseas Territory located in the eastern Caribbean, Mexico City (Mexico), Aspen, (Colorado), New York, Sonoma (California) and Saint Barthélemy, a French island in the West Indies, located 200 km northwest of Guadeloupe. Stowe (Vermont) takes 11th place ahead of Cape Town (South Africa). London (UK) takes 13th place.
Cartagena de Indias, a port city on the Caribbean coast of Colombia, takes 14th place. Then come Patagonia (Chile), Banff (Canada), a small seaside town located within the same-named national park, Bangkok (Thailand) and Valparaiso, a port city on the Chilean coast. Kawaguchiko (Japan) and Rome (Italy) complete the top 20.
