Marrakech’s La Mamounia Named World’s Best Hotel by Conde Nast Traveler Readers

La Mamounia in Marrakech tops the ranking of the 50 best hotels in the world. This position was granted to it by the American magazine "Conde Nast Traveler" in its "Readers’Choice Awards" section.
More than 800,000 readers of the American magazine "Conde Nast Traveler" took part in this ranking. They based their travel experiences to place "La Mamounia" at the top of the best hotels in the world. Among the criteria that propelled the hotel to this position are its unique architecture and its luxurious assets.
"If you don’t spend the night in one of the tiled rooms of this former palace, it’s almost as if you’ve never been to Marrakech," we can read on the magazine’s website, adding that "it is because this opulent pocket of palm trees, landscaped gardens and fountains, where the sensual halls and bars are draped in dark silks and velvets, has come to embody all the reasons why we make Marrakech our first destination".
As for the other criteria, there is the prestige, the welcome, the quality of the restaurants and the design of the palace which has 200 rooms and has a casino, rose palm trees. The "La Mamounia" hotel was completely renovated a few years ago.
