Marrakech: a local elected official falls for corruption

Accused of receiving a bribe of 5,000 dirhams, the head of the Harbil commune, a member of the Union Constitutionnelle party, was arrested by the elements of the Royal Gendarmerie of Marrakech.
A Moroccan woman who wanted to obtain a commercial license would have approached an employee of the Harbil commune who would have proposed to her to pay a sum of money in order to obtain a favorable treatment of her file.
She would later have denounced the head of the commune via the helpline, which allowed the Royal Gendarmerie, on the orders of the Attorney General of the King near the Court of Appeal of Marrakech, to arrest the accused in flagrante delicto in the Tamensourt area, reports Telquel.
The head of the commune and the employee in question were heard and placed in custody. The prosecution has requested the opening of a preliminary investigation to clarify the case.
