Marrakech Hotels Shine: Palais Ronsard and Oberoi Win Prestigious Design Awards

The Palais Ronsard, designed by Gil Dez, was honored in the "restaurants in Africa and West Asia" category. As for the Oberoi Hotel, designed by the firm of Patrick Collier, it received the special exterior award.

Thanks to this continental award, the Palais Ronsard and the Oberoi Hotel can participate in the global competitions (Versailles Prize, Interior and Exterior) of the 2020 edition in the categories of shops and stores, shopping centers, hotels and restaurants.

The Versailles Prize rewards structures in six regions: Africa and West Asia, Central, South America and the Caribbean, North America, Central and Northeast Asia, South Asia and the Pacific, and Europe.

For the organizers of this prize that distinguishes structures in six regions, the winners are rewarded according to very specific criteria, namely innovation, creativity, reflection of the local, natural and cultural heritage, ecological efficiency, as well as the values of social interaction and participation.

According to a press release from the Versailles Prize, the winners of this distinction have shown "extraordinary architecture and design". They also embody "the living expression of a successful synergy between the economy and culture".
