Marrakech Hotels Fully Booked for Eid Al-Adha as Tourism Rebounds

Marrakech hotels are full of bookings. Many foreign and national tourists prefer to celebrate Eid Al-Adha with specialized hoteliers. Good news for the sector, hit by the health crisis.
After two years of health crisis related to Covid-19, the Eid al-Adha hotel package is back. Many tourists have rushed to hotels to celebrate the religious holiday without constraints related to the sacrifice of the sheep (delivery, slaughter...), reports Médias24. "Except for a few guest houses, it is indeed impossible to find a hotel room in Marrakech, which has been literally stormed by nationals and foreigners for the three days of the holiday," reveals Abdellatif Abouricha, spokesperson for the Regional Tourism Council of the region. He expects the return of the Eid al-Adha hotel package to achieve an occupancy rate of 100% for the weekend of July 9-11.
The official is convinced that the ochre city will probably be full this weekend with "a Jemaa El Fna square already very crowded until 1 a.m." A strong rebound will also be observed after Eid. The spokesperson says that from July 19, the city will host several conferences. It will also welcome the families of locals, Moroccans living abroad and foreign tourists, which will maintain the high occupancy rate during July and August.
"My package for the Eid period is increasingly successful with Moroccans from other cities, to both rest and celebrate it in the rules of the art of tradition," says Ali Chaoui, owner of the Eden Andalou hotel and one of the pioneers of launching this offer. "Either the clients bring their own sheep and our team of butchers take care of everything until they put them in cold rooms before taking them home or offering them to the needy, or they can buy one on site which we will take care of in the same way," he explains.
