Marrakech Fruit Market Scammer Flees to Turkey with $600,000 in Stolen Funds
In Marrakech, an individual is the subject of several complaints after defrauding merchants, farmers, truck drivers and fruit and vegetable suppliers.
A major blow for the Marrakech wholesale fruit and vegetable market. Several merchants have been victims of a vast fraud perpetrated by an individual taking advantage of his popularity and integrity among the sellers.
Using subterfuge, he managed to defraud merchants, farmers, truck drivers and fruit and vegetable suppliers. The amount of the fraud amounts to 6 million dirhams. After committing his crime, the alleged scammer fled to Turkey where his daughter resides. The victims have filed several complaints with the competent authorities.
