As for the Best Director award, it was won by Tunisian director Ala Eddine Slim for his film "Tlamess", a feature film that plunges cinephiles into a strange experience. The Jury Prize was won ex-aequo by the Chinese film "Mosaic Portrait" by Zhai Yixiang and the Saudi film "Last Visit" (Akher Ziyara) by Abdulmohsen Aldhabaan.
Jury President Tilda Swinton said she was very pleased with the many experiences she had during the FIFM. "This international film event allowed the Jury members and cinephiles to discover and celebrate together wonderful films and filmmakers, while establishing new acquaintances in a spirit of camaraderie," she rejoiced.
The FIFM, due to the quality of the films in competition, has become a must-see event. This year, 98 films from 34 countries divided into several sections were honored. Iconic figures of cinema were also celebrated. These are the American director, producer and actor Robert Redford, the great French filmmaker Bertrand Tavernier, the star of Moroccan cinema Mouna Fettou and the Bollywood icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
