"Marock" Star Hints at Potential Sequel to Cult Moroccan Film After 15 Years

Fifteen years after the release of the cult film "Marock", actor Assaad Bouab is betting on the making of a second installment.
"To find them all again, and shoot a second installment?", wrote actor Assaad Bouab in the caption of the "Marock" film poster. He also mentioned the director and the main actors in his post.
The one who is now at the top of the bill in the French series "Ten Percent" told HuffPost Maroc that he is "very eager" to shoot a sequel to "Marock", "with the same team, but in today’s Morocco".
"It’s more of a desire than a concrete project. We would need to know what angle we would take to make this film, but in any case I would be on board. The idea would be to wonder what these characters would have become 15 years later," Bouab hinted. "We didn’t think the film would make such an impression," he said.
For Laïla Marrakchi, the making of a second installment of the film "Marock" remains "an idea" to be explored. "Until that moment comes, she is multiplying her activities on the ground. Moreover, she has just finished editing the Netflix series "The Eddy", with Tahar Rahim and Leïla Bekhti, which will be released in the spring of 2020.
