Moroccan Ex-Legionnaire Kidnapped and Tortured in Spain: Police Suspect Drug-Related Motive

The victim, a former legionnaire, has no criminal record in Spain, but has a criminal record for drug trafficking in Morocco, according to police sources at Vozpópuli. As soon as they were informed of his kidnapping on Monday, the National Police agents of Cadiz opened an investigation to try to find him.

From the outset, the investigators favored the trail of a settling of scores related to drug trafficking, suspecting the Moroccan of having contracted a financial debt with his kidnappers, members of a criminal network, who decided to give him a warning.

The pressure from the investigators pushed the criminals to release the victim on Tuesday. The Moroccan, who was beaten, tortured and received three bullets in the lower limbs, was dropped off near a gas station. Alerted, the agents quickly went to the scene and administered first aid to the victim before transporting him to the hospital in an ambulance. His vital prognosis is not engaged.

The investigation continues to identify and arrest the perpetrators of this kidnapping. In total, at least ten people are suspected of being involved in this abduction. Lately, drug trafficking networks have been sowing terror in the city of Cadiz.
