Marhaba 2025: Ceuta Port Urges Early Boarding and Round-Trip Tickets for Smooth Morocco Transit

The port authority of Ceuta is asking Moroccans living in Europe who wish to travel to Morocco by sea as part of the Marhaba Operation to have a round-trip ticket and to board in advance in order to travel under good conditions.
In a post on its official X account, the port of Ceuta has invited MREs to be punctual and responsible during this period of high traffic, indicating that boarding will open one hour before the ship’s departure and will close 30 minutes before the departure time. "It is important to have a round-trip ticket to speed up the process," the port authority recalled, stressing that these measures are aimed not only at optimizing boarding, but also at strengthening the security of the Transit Operation.
Every summer, hundreds of thousands of MREs transit with their cars through the Andalusian ports to Morocco to spend their summer holidays there. Several of them prefer to use the Algeciras-Ceuta line. To streamline traffic on this line, the port of Algeciras has also activated its special device for the 2025 Marhaba Operation this Friday, which also recommends a round-trip ticket purchased online or at authorized sales points and early boarding.
The Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras (APBA) recommends using the north access (N-357). For the Algeciras-Ceuta and Algeciras-Tanger Med lines, vehicles must enter the port area six hours in advance, and two hours in advance for the Tarifa-Tanger Ville line. The APBA activated the lane reserved only for Ceuta residents this Friday, June 27. During all the weekends of July, it will be operational from 2 p.m. on Friday to the same time on Monday.
