Manchester United’s Amrabat Expresses Frustration Over Limited Playing Time

Manchester United should have difficulty exercising the purchase option for Sofyan Amrabat. The Moroccan midfielder, on loan from Fiorentina this winter, has expressed his regrets about his lack of playing time.
Arriving with great expectations at Old Trafford, Amrabat has not been able to establish himself as an undisputed starter. Out of 28 appearances, only 9 were starts in the Premier League.
"It’s true that it hasn’t been easy," the player told the Daily Mail after the win against Newcastle. "Everyone wants to play and I had to be patient. I was always ready to give my maximum, whether for one or ten minutes."
Despite his lack of playing time, Amrabat has shown his qualities in recent matches, especially against Arsenal and Newcastle. However, these performances have not convinced the Manchester United management to exercise his purchase option, set at 21.4 million euros.
The Moroccan midfielder could bounce back in Saudi Arabia, where he has several offers.
The Moroccan’s agent was in Manchester for discussions this week, and it seems increasingly unlikely that United will trigger the 21.4 million pound option to sign him permanently, having already paid 8.5 million pounds to have him on loan this season.
