Man Dies After Fall into Zinc Mine Well in Figuig, Morocco

A man died on Thursday following an accidental fall into an authorized zinc extraction well in the Boudhar mountain, in Bni Tajdite.
According to the local authorities of the province of Figuig, the victim’s release from the well was made possible thanks to the collaboration with the services of the Royal Gendarmerie and Civil Protection. Once out of the well, the man was immediately taken to the Bni Tajdite health center for first aid, before being evacuated to the provincial hospital in Bouarfa, where he died.
An investigation has been immediately opened, under the supervision of the competent authorities, to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy.
