Major Moroccan Drug Lord Arrested in Barcelona After Years-Long Manhunt

A Moroccan drug trafficker, wanted in Germany for about thirty drug-related cases, was arrested by the national police in Barcelona, Spain. This arrest was made possible thanks to the collaboration of the national police officers with the BKA in Germany.
The national police were informed of a European arrest and surrender warrant issued by the German authorities, for a total of 36 cases of drug trafficking. This mainly involved cannabis and hashish, carried out between 2012 and 2015 in various cities in Germany.
The investigations to arrest this Moroccan began in April 2019, when Germany received information indicating his presence in Spain, probably with other compatriots and relatives who would serve him.
Fake travel documents allowed them to travel between Spain and Morocco, their country of origin.
The implementation of a rapid and effective intervention prevented the fugitive from fleeing. He was arrested by the police in the suburbs of Barcelona.
