Major Drug Bust: ’Phantom’ Boat Seized with 560 Kilos of Hashish off Ceuta Coast

The agents of the Maritime Service of the Civil Guard intercepted on Tuesday off the coast of Ceuta a "Phantom" type boat, registered in Morocco, with 17 bales of hashish weighing 560 kilos. The two occupants, known by the nicknames "Kubala" and "Paquirri", were arrested and placed in pre-trial detention.
The boat was transporting the drugs from the city of M’diq and belongs to a certain Tarek known as "The Dutchman", even though the latter denied the contrary before the Moroccan authorities and claimed that he had already sold it to "Kubala", a wanted drug trafficker. But no deed proves the transaction. This is a "common practice among drug traffickers," Moroccan sources told El Pueblo de Ceuta.
After his arrest, Tarek "the Dutchman" was brought before a judge who ordered his detention on remand for a presumed crime of drug trafficking, the boat still being in his name when he left M’diq, loaded with drugs. The boat entered Spanish waters after a chase with the Royal Moroccan Navy, which he managed to escape.
Tarek "the Dutchman", baron of drug trafficking in the Tetouan region, is considered the "godfather" of "Kubala" in Morocco. He manages his business in collusion with agents of the administration and the police. Thanks to his power and influence, he has managed to get "Kubala" off the hook, accused in December 2018 of trafficking more than a ton of cocaine. The prosecutor has given instructions to reopen the investigation into this latest case in which "Kubala" would be involved.
