Major Cannabis Trafficking Ring Busted: Spain Probes Morocco-Netherlands Network

The High Court of Spain is investigating an international network of cannabis traffickers operating between Morocco and the Netherlands. It is particularly interested in a former employee of Madrid’s Barajas airport.
The investigation is focusing on an international network of traffickers who were transporting large quantities of hashish between Morocco and the Netherlands, reports El Confidencial. These traffickers were also bringing in cocaine from South America. Two Belgian nationals suspected of being at the head of this network have been arrested, as well as two Dutch suspects.
A former employee of Madrid’s Barajas airport is currently in the sights of the Spanish authorities. Based on wiretaps, they suspect him of being the contact point with the aviation sector to facilitate the movement of goods. He is said to have earned up to 24 million euros through drug trafficking at his workplace.
