Magnitude 5.3 Earthquake Strikes Morocco’s Midelt Province, Followed by 4.2 Aftershock

The province of Midelt recorded two seismic shocks on Sunday, with magnitudes of 5.3 and 4.2 on the Richter scale, according to the National Institute of Geophysics (ING).
In a seismic alert bulletin, the National Seismic Monitoring and Alert Network of the ING noted that the two shocks, the epicenter of which is located in the commune of Ennzala, occurred respectively at 10:56:52 PM and 11:06:40 PM (GMT+1), reports the MAP.
While the first shock felt had a depth of 04 km, a latitude of 32.584°N and a longitude of 4.227°W, the second one had a depth of 5 km, a latitude of 32.571°N, and a longitude of 4.185°W.
