Maghrebi Artists Blend Moroccan Rhythms with British Sounds in New UK Release "Ya Salam"

In the United Kingdom, seven artists from the Maghreb have released "Ya Salam", a mix of Moroccan rhythms and British gospel. The goal is to impose Maghrebi music in the country of Rishi Sunak.
"Ya Salam" is a masterpiece by artists Miraa May and Flomine, Smallx, Ard Adz, YP, BLESSED and Sybka produced in partnership with Spotify’s Noteable studio. The song blends Moroccan sounds with British drill and gospel sounds. "Collaboration is more than just music. It’s something we want to instill in the next generation, and the one after that," explains YP, an American artist whose parents are of Moroccan and Filipino origin.
This project aims to nourish the next generation of creators and open up new opportunities for them. "North African music is represented in the UK, but not as much as it should be," said British singer of Algerian origin Miraa May. "So when there are other people trying to do the same thing [as me], I immediately turn to them."
Naoufal El Amrani, Senior Artist & Label Partnerships Manager for the Maghreb, explains the project: "The music in our region is currently experiencing one of its most exciting periods; it is being exported and connecting with new fans beyond borders like never before."
