Madrid Charity Distributes Ramadan Food Aid to Moroccan Immigrants Amid COVID-19 Crisis

The Moroccan community living in the Madrid region has benefited from the distribution of food aid on the occasion of the month of Ramadan. This is a humanitarian initiative launched by the ALIF International Center for Coexistence to support Moroccans in the current context of the covid-19 pandemic.
In a press release, the center recalled that this operation has made it possible to support Moroccans established in the Autonomous Community of Madrid, since the declaration of the state of health emergency in the country to fight against the spread of covid-19.
This humanitarian initiative has benefited several members of the Moroccan community impacted by the restrictive measures imposed by the authorities to deal with the spread of the virus, as well as immigrants and Moroccan nationals on tourist stays in the region, blocked since the outbreak of the pandemic.
In the same spirit of solidarity, large quantities of food donated by several Spanish institutions, as well as by the Food Bank, have been distributed to 884 families established in the region. According to the organizers, this operation will continue to reach a larger number of needy families.
In addition, Ramadan food baskets will also be distributed to underprivileged families on the occasion of the fasting month, thanks to the support of benefactors. This is a humanitarian initiative that has become an annual tradition carried out by many Moroccan associations active in the different regions of Spain.
