Luxury Marrakech Riad: Historic Gem with Modern Amenities Listed for $4 Million

An exceptional riad has just been put up for sale in Marrakech for 3.7 million euros, or just over $4 million.
In the heart of Marrakech, a riad catches the eye. It is the Riad Haldimann, which combines historic architecture with modern comfort, a bold style and contemporary works of art. Axel de Sambucy, from Morocco Sotheby’s International Realty, is in charge of selling it for 3.7 million euros, or just over $4 million. Built on an area of nearly 2,000 square meters (20,000 square feet), this riad has 15 air-conditioned rooms and 15 modern bathrooms. With few exterior ornaments and few exterior windows, this riad breathes calm and tranquility. The interior is richly decorated.
On the upper levels, the bedrooms are covered in sumptuous fabrics, glamorous lighting and a kaleidoscope of rich colors, one in plum, another in mustard and a third in sapphire, according to Robb Report. The sumptuous bathrooms are covered in zellige tiles in bright colors. One of the rooms has hand-plastered mandarin walls and large slabs of charcoal gray marble.
The Riad Haldimann is worthy of a guest house - a kind of charming hotel with private rooms and shared common spaces. It can also be operated as a spacious family property full-time or as a vacation getaway that can comfortably accommodate more than two dozen guests.
