Luxury Car Theft Foiled: Suspect Arrested After 150km Chase from Kenitra to Casablanca

An incredible attempt to steal a luxury car took place on Thursday in Kenitra. The police, alerted, managed to arrest the alleged thief 150 km further away, in Ain Sebaa, Casablanca.
It all started with a visit to a showroom. Accompanied by an individual, a man entered the showroom of a used luxury car dealer in Kenitra. He makes him believe that he wanted to buy a vehicle. The dealer then shows him the available cars, their characteristics and tells him their price. The alleged buyer is interested in a "Range Rover". They agree on its price. Satisfying his request, the seller hands over the keys of the vehicle to the "customer" for a test drive. To everyone’s surprise, he starts off at full speed, increases the speed and accelerates towards the Rabat-Kenitra highway.
Surprised, the seller takes his car, with his assistant on board. A long chase follows all along the highway. In the process, the fake customer changes direction and overtakes the cars at high speed. The seller reports the theft and specifies the direction taken by the thief to the police and on social networks. The latter tries to stop the thief in his flight. For his part, the seller receives the help of used car dealers in the region. They exchanged information on the stolen car and descriptions of the thief via the WhatsApp application. With the help of car dealers, they managed to locate the alleged thief in the Ain Sebaa area and prevent him from escaping.
The alleged thief was extracted from the stolen car and handed over to the Ain Sebaa police. The latter is conducting an investigation to solve this case.
