Luxembourg Opens Trade Office in Casablanca to Boost Morocco Economic Ties

To strengthen the economic and trade relations between Morocco and Luxembourg, the opening of a representative office called the Luxembourg Trade and Investment Office (LTIO) is planned in Casablanca. This announcement was made by the Luxembourg government this week.
The opening of the LTIO was announced during the Luxembourg economic mission that took place in September 2019 in Morocco. The mission was chaired by Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume, notes the LTIO Casablanca in a press release. This office is also the 9th in the network of LTIOs worldwide and the first in Africa.
The objective of this LTIO is to serve Luxembourg companies wishing to invest and operate in Morocco. This office will also identify opportunities in Morocco and Africa in general, for Luxembourg companies in various sectors. During the session, the Minister of the Economy, Franz Fayot of Luxembourg, affirmed that Morocco represents a real hub towards the African continent in view of the multitude of sectors it possesses, not to mention its economic diversification policy. A webinar will be organized on November 10th jointly by the Ministry of the Economy and the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce. The purpose of the webinar is to raise awareness and inform companies in the two countries and the authorities interested in the services of the new office, he added.
The new office, which will also be able to support Moroccan investors and companies towards Luxembourg as a European gateway, is "an important step in strengthening economic exchanges between the two countries," said the new head of this LTIO, Arman Haloui. At the head of the LTIO, his profile is interesting in more than one way, as he is also the honorary consul of Luxembourg in Morocco, reports La Map.
