Luggage Theft Hits Royal Air Maroc Flight from New York at Casablanca Airport

At the Mohammed V airport in Casablanca, the luggage of many passengers on a Royal Air Maroc (AT 2201) flight from the United States (New York-JFK airport) was stolen.
The flight occurred last Monday, reports L’Économiste. Hold bags were gutted and locks broken, testify the victims. The baggage handlers and handling teams are suspected of having committed these thefts.
Luggage theft or loss has become recurrent. In August, Royal Air Maroc (RAM) had faced criticism after the loss of luggage of several dozen Guinean passengers. They had returned to their country on a special RAM flight. Ten days later, they still had not received their luggage.
The airline had explained that only 60 passengers were in this situation due to excess baggage. The plane, unable to take everything on board, left with a few bags missing. RAM had promised the passengers concerned to ship their luggage on another flight.
