Loreen Makes Eurovision History with Second Win, Sweden Ties Ireland’s Record

The Swede Loreen triumphed at the Eurovision Song Contest with her melody entitled "Tattoo", thus writing a new page in the annals of the contest. The singer of Moroccan origin has won the competition for the second time, thus equaling Ireland with a total of seven victories for each country. La Zarra, for her part, has once again made headlines.
The 39-year-old singer’s performance was very well received by industry professionals, while Finland took second place with 526 points thanks to the public’s votes for the song "Cha Cha Cha" by Käärijä.
From the very first moments, Loreen emerged as the undisputed favorite. Since her selection as Sweden’s representative at the beginning of the year, she has dominated the forecasts and fan polls of the Eurovision.
This victory propels Loreen to the rank of the first woman to win the Eurovision Song Contest twice, thus joining Johnny Logan, the Irishman who has also triumphed three times. Sweden and Ireland now share the status of leaders with seven victories each in the contest’s rankings.
La Zarra’s middle finger
What’s an Eurovision without its share of melodrama? Nothing. That’s why La Zarra became the protagonist of the image of the evening during the final of the contest, sparking a major controversy on social networks after the victory of her compatriot Loreen in Liverpool. The representative of France did not digest the points that were attributed to her by the televoting, insufficient to allow her to obtain an honorable position at Eurovision 2023, which caused her to fall to 16th place. When the camera focused on her, the candidate expressed her displeasure with a middle finger, a gesture that did not escape anyone.
