Long-Sought Moroccan Drug Lord Arrested in Spain After 18-Year Manhunt

One of the most wanted drug traffickers by the Moroccan authorities has been caught by chance in a police station in Malaga. The individual, a Moroccan in his forties, has been the subject of an international arrest warrant since 2003.
The suspect, involved in international drug trafficking networks, was arrested in a police station in Malaga, where he had presented himself to regularize his residence papers.
The individual, who used four different identities, eventually intrigued the police officers, reports a local media. To determine his real identity, the police resorted to fingerprinting, before discovering that he had been wanted since 2003 by the Moroccan authorities.
After 48 hours in custody, the Moroccan was brought before the city’s court, pending the start of his extradition procedure to the kingdom.
