Locust Swarms Prompt Aerial Response in Southern Morocco’s Tata Province

The National Locust Control Office in Ait Melloul has mobilized planes to counter the swarms of locusts invading part of the province of Tata.
To the great evils, the great remedies. The National Locust Control Office in Ait Melloul has mobilized two spraying planes to fight against the locust swarms in the commune of Fam El Hisn. These aircraft will take off to Tata to carry out this operation, reports the daily Al Ahdath Al Maghribia. The authorities have already issued a call to farmers, livestock breeders, beekeepers and nomads in the Draa valley. They are invited to take precautions against any risks, and to leave the areas concerned by the operation. As for the residents, they are strongly advised not to approach the areas concerned for at least 15 days.

The locust invasion affects several communes in the province of Tata, in the southeast of the kingdom. These locusts, which move massively, have flowed from the desert, particularly from Algeria.
