Legendary Moroccan Actor Hammadi Ammor Dies at 90, Leaving Rich Cinema Legacy

Moroccan actor Hammadi Ammor died from a long illness on Friday night to Saturday, May 15. He was 90 years old.
Moroccan cinema has just lost one of its most illustrious icons. Hammadi Ammor passed away from a long illness, Abdelkebir Rgagna, president of the Moroccan Union of Dramatic Arts, told MAP. Born in Fez in 1930, the deceased had dedicated his life to cinema and theater.
His career began in 1948 when he was involved in amateur theater even before the creation in 1951 in Casablanca of the "Al Manar" troupe. His rich repertoire of interpretations testifies to his fine professional career. Whether in cinema, theater or radio, he shone through professionalism.
The late actor played a wide range of different and complete roles. He had acted in several cult film works such as "Kaïd Ensa" in 1999 (Tricks of Women) or "Al Mohima" (The Mission) in 2002. He is also known for having hosted the "Alam Al Founoun" (The World of the Arts) program for more than 10 years.
