She learned to make bread at the age of 6 in Morocco, she is now Michelin-starred

Moroccan-born chef Nawal Rezagui has just won her first Michelin star in the 2026 Guide. At the helm of the restaurant l’Alcôve, she celebrates an exceptional achievement rewarding an atypical career with Mediterranean flavors.

Proudly wearing her new embroidered apron, the 43-year-old chef savors this recognition obtained in mid-March. As indicated by France Bleu, she is one of the three women rewarded this year by the gastronomic institution.

Arrived in France fourteen years ago, she was initially destined for long studies. Her love of cooking has its roots in her youth in Morocco. "I learned to make bread at the age of 6, with my mother and grandmother," she recalls.

Determined to excel, she then goes through professional training and forges her experience from Marseille to Germany. Guided by her epicureanism, she confides: "The creation of the dishes gave me stars in my eyes".
